Meeting blogger friends + slow traveling in Massachusetts

After nearly 10 years of online friendship and 5 or so years of failed, albeit lukewarm, attempts at meeting up, I finally got to meet two of my blogger friends! As they're both currently living in the Boston metro area, my family and I took advantage of one 4th of July weekend holiday to finally go and see them.

Reflections on our experiences together while hiking through Mt. Tamalpais

For this year's Get There | Get Lost Founders Meetup (I just came up with that, and I'm going to make it a thing!), we had planned a two-day excursion of some of Bianca's tried and tested places in Marin County, and one of them was Mt. Tamalpais.

I had some reflections on our travels together - how often we see each other, and how it's never enough.

That time when we took a 'basic' tour of Coron

Coron is part of the Calamian Group of Islands, which serves as a jumping point for island-hopping adventures to other islands in the area as well as for the wide-range of exciting activities Palawan has to offer: snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and trekking, and so much more.

Despite the generic itinerary template arranged by our tour operator, nothing about our three-days-two-nights package was a basic experience.

The Charming Ghana, Africa

Thinking of the best destination to visit this summer? Search no more, the charming Ghana is all you need. The country offers a true spirit of Africa. You will be pleased to discover its vast natural wonders, have a chat with friendly locals and engage in their activities and festivals while you relax at the sun-soaked beaches.

The thing which makes Ghana the best destination in Africa to discover are its rather low prices. You will be surprised to see how everything is affordable. Just book a flight and have the holiday you have always dreamed of at a price that cannot be paid anywhere else.

GTGL Snippets: Coron, Palawan, Philippines

Conde Nast Traveler's Reader's Choice Award for Best Island in the World in 2015 went to Palawan, Philippines. How serendipitous was it that my family not only paid the Motherland a visit for the first time in five years, but also got to experience the majestic beauty of Coron, Palawan in the same year?

The Antidote to Post-Travel Blues

Bianca: So, did you find one? An antidote?

Me: No.

It's been almost three weeks since we came back from our family vacation to the Philippines, and I haven't written a single word about it. Aside from this trip being the highlight of our summer, with so much anticipatory joy surrounding the weeks (or maybe even months) leading to it, it was also our first time back to our home country since moving to the United States five years ago. So, for us, our downer mood isn't just brought about by having to transition back to the real world, it's also due to having to get used to not being surrounded by the love and care of family and longtime friends.

The Hillside & Beachside Town of Villefranche-sur-Mer

Technically now a suburb of Nice, and right next to it, is the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer. It isn’t the only place in the French Riviera where you can see the hills and coast in one point of view. Monaco is another, but that has an entirely different vibe.
