GTGL Snippets: Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland, USA

I have to say, I was inspired by the previous post, City Touring Challenges and How to Overcome Them. So, I thought I would share this photo from the largest independent city in the United States, Baltimore in Maryland.

In this photo, you'll see the National Aquarium and the Lightship 116 Chesapeake, one of the Historic Ships in Baltimore docked in the Inner Harbor, taken from none other than the USS Constellation.

City Touring Challenges and How to Overcome Them
It took us a year after the stroke to take our first trip by plane. It’s gotten manageable since with all the tricks we’ve developed. In 2014, we tackled NYC, and there we identified some of the challenges we now have with our new situation. But, in 2015, we did Boston, and you bet your passport we’ve learned how to overcome these challenges.

GTGL Snippets: Via dell’Amore, Cinque Terre, Italy

In 2012, my husband, Jesús, and I spent a week in Liguria, at the famed Cinque Terre. During our stay, we hiked the stretch of Monterosso al Mare to Vernazza, Vernazza to Corniglia, then Manarola to Riomaggiore. GTGL Snippets: Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

It was my first cruise ever, and of course, the cruise itself should warrant its own post. This was the final day, and it was the only stop where we dropped anchor, instead of actually docking. I daresay that was pretty cool. We had this view of the arch, El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, from our balcony. People went on tours to go closer and around it, which I had been curious about as I had seen numerous pictures of this rock formation.

5 things that should be hotel basics by now

There's the standard wish list one hopes to get when they book a hotel room - spacious room, high floor, with a view - that sort of thing. These do come with the price you pay, as most things about location, comfort and style do. But there are these basic things that we all know are necessary, but just appear to be missing. It's made me wonder, whether it's a stay at the Hyatt or a B&B at the English countryside, what's the hesitation with making these standards?

GTGL Snippets: MIT, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA

A photo is but a second (well, more or less for you shutterbugs out there) of the entire experience - captured, eternalized, relived. Every one is just a moment of a story, in the chapter of our lives that brought us to that instant.

So, we're starting a collection within our blog called GTGL Snippets - a photo (or 2), and the story behind the shot. There's only so much you can write to caption a photo on Instagram, but there's so much to share. And we'll do just that.
